Unfortunately,
Our Rescue does not provide rabbits for
off-site events.

Please see below the reasons why bunnies are not the best animal for events or parties.

We love to provide outreach and education events, however, we do not bring our adoptable bunnies to those events for the safety of our bunnies and the safety of the visitors.

Please consider other alternatives for your events.

These are the same reasons we hold adoption appointments at our adoption center. We want you to see bunnies in their own social element. They are at "Home" and love to show off their space.

Stress Level

Rabbits are prey animals, in that they are easily stressed by new environments and new experiences. Their natural instinct is to burrow and hide, but in new environments, they do not know where their "safe zone" is. Rabbits if they are stressed for long periods of time, can have heart attacks or be unpredictable.

Unpredictable Behavior

With the stress level, bunnies (even the most docile ones) can be unpredictable. This can be as wide as just sitting in a corner and breathing heavy, to becoming territorial and biting in defense. Bunnies if they feel they do not have any other option can lash out in a defense of biting, kicking, scratching, trying to get away.

Injuries

Bunnies are extremely fragile animals. Their bones are extremely fragile and if not handled properly or respected they will break. The most common injury in bunnies is their spine and their legs. If held improperly or picked up and the bunny was not prepared/not want to be picked up, it can lash out and bend the wrong way, breaking its spine. This is common in children handling bunnies.

The other injury is their hips and legs. In their attempt to run away they can get their leg caught and break. Or if not paying attention and someone accidentally steps on a bunny. This is also common with children chasing bunnies, and the bunny stopping and the child still running.

Noise Levels

Bunnies have large ears as prey animals to hear long distances. With this, loud noises are extra loud to them. They get extremely stressed by loud noises, and sudden loud noises can startle them. Bunnies have sensitive hearts. So loud noises can startle sometimes enough to give them heart attacks.
