Our Foster
Program

To ensure the well-being of our bunnies, we provide foster-to-adopt and Long Term therapy fostering options as bunnies have a low tolerance for stress and changes in their environment.

Foster-to-Adopt

If you're interested in adopting a bunny but still have some hesitations, our foster-to-adopt program might be perfect for you. This program is designed to help you find a bunny that will fit in perfectly with your family's expectations. We understand that bunnies have different personalities and needs, which is why we take the time to match them with the right family.

The foster-to-adopt program lasts for a minimum of 30 days, during which time you can see how the bunny adjusts to your family and the dynamic. It's important to note that bunnies need at least two weeks to settle in and get adjusted, so we believe that 30 days is the perfect amount of time to gauge their fit in your home.

Our Therapy Program is a long-term foster program designed to assist our bunnies in various ways. Many of these bunnies have suffered from terrible past experiences, resulting in a lack of trust in humans. By placing them in a home with one-on-one attention, we can help them regain their confidence and prepare them for a happy life with their future family.

Additionally, some bunnies require specialized training or a specific setup that we cannot provide at the rescue. For example, some may be aggressive when in a cage and need a free-roaming area, while others may not get along with other bunnies due to territorial issues. However, in a new environment, they can thrive and adapt to a routine, becoming the happy bunnies they were meant to be.

Emergency Evacuations

Due to severe storms in 2023, our adoption center has been evacuated twice by Monterey County. During these evacuations, we require foster homes to provide temporary shelter for our bunnies until we receive clearance from the county. The duration of these placements can range from 7 days to longer, depending on the severity of the storms.
Despite the emergency situation, we maintain our high standards for foster homes, as the safety of our bunnies remains our top priority.
